John Ditchfield has been a specialist in sustainable and responsible investment for nearly twenty years.
John started his investment career with the UK’s first “ethical” investment business Barchester Green Investment where John was a Director of the firm, John led the firm through a significant growth phase seeing it take on major national accounts with a number of leading Charities and Non-Governmental Organisations, such as WWF-UK and Greenpeace. The business was sold in 2014-2015 to a rival investment firm where John worked as a Partner for four years before moving to Helm Godfrey as our Head of Responsible Investment.
In addition to his work advising private clients and organisations on a range of financial planning matters, John has also been a member of the Admissions Panel of the Social Stock Exchange, which was the first public market to list impact businesses.
John has also served as a Director of UKSIF (UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association), the UK’s leading sustainable finance trade body.
Frequently quoted in both trade and mainstream media John has twice won the Unbiased Media Award for Socially Responsible Investment, most recently for 2017.
In his spare time John’s two young children, Emmeline and Harold, are embarrassed both by his lack of good Spanish and poor grasp of slang… John’s hobbies include running and he claims to be able to get around a 10K course in 43-44 mins.
John also support Not for Profit organisations in his spare time and is Founder and Chairman of two Co-operatives responsible for protecting what remains of London’s ancient woodland.
